HEA Bids Farewell to the Legal Counsel and Board Secretary, Mrs. Tafuna Mumba-Phiri

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) bade farewell to the Legal Counsel and Board Secretary, Mrs. Tafuna Mumba-Phiri.

Mrs. Mumba-Phiri has left her position at the Authority after serving for one year. She joined HEA as the Authority’s first Legal Counsel and Board Secretary.

Speaking on behalf of HEA, the Manager – Programme Accreditation, Dr. Elizabeth Namonje, thanked Mrs. Mumba-Phiri for the great work that she had performed in her short time at the Authority, noting that it had been of great value to the progression of quality assurance standards in higher education in Zambia.

Dr. Namonje further added that Mrs. Mumba-Phiri always had a solution and a way of handling matters in unique ways that elevated the work of the Authority.

And, in her farewell remarks, Mrs. Mumba-Phiri thanked everyone for the guidance, support, and cooperation she received in her role as Legal Counsel and Board Secretary of HEA.

“The Board was very supportive, including Management and Staff,” Mrs. Mumba-Phiri said, continuing, “I joined an institution under the Ministry of Education for the first time and there was a lot I needed to learn that was different from where I was in the past, and everyone I met was very helpful, walking me through what I needed to do.”

Mrs. Mumba-Phiri stated that she was leaving HEA with pleasant memories and she will be proud to hear pleasant things about the Authority even after her departure.

“Please be as united as possible as there is nothing that can be achieved from a divided team,” she said, concluding, “I wish the institution all the best.”

The Authority wishes Mrs. Mumba-Phiri the greatest of success in her new role. Her counsel, presence and contributions will surely be missed, and her professionalism and commitment to work will remain admired by everyone at HEA.
