Public Universities Laud HEA for Fostering Collaboration and Dialogue Among Public Universities
Public universities have lauded the Higher Education Authority (HEA) for fostering collaboration, dialogue, and the sharing of experiences among the public universities.
This was stated by Kwame Nkrumah University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Alfred Mwanza, when giving the vote of thanks on behalf of the public universities in attendance at the two (2) day engagement meeting HEA had with public universities.
“Your commitment to fostering collaboration, dialogue, and (the) sharing of experiences among public universities is commendable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to come together and share insights and experiences,” Prof. Mwanza stated, adding, “Your continuous support and guidance in advancing higher education in our country is greatly appreciated.”
Prof. Mwanza further acknowledged the willingness of public universities to share their experiences, achievements and challenges with each other in order to enrich the collective understanding of public universities. He added that this sharing amongst public universities would strengthen their collective resolve to addressing common challenges and pursue shared goals.
“To our esteemed colleagues from all the public universities that participated and made presentations yesterday and today, we extend our heartfelt appreciation,” he stated, adding, “Your presentations on the status, financing models, achievements, innovations, and challenges of your respective institutions have been insightful and inspiring.”
The Kwame Nkrumah University Vice-Chancellor added that it was through these exchanges of knowledge and experiences that public universities could can learn from each other, collaborate effectively, and strive for excellence in their endeavours.
In the vote of thanks at the end of the engagement meetings which were held on Thursday and Friday, 25th and 26th April, 2024, Prof. Mwanza extended congratulatory remarks to the Director-General, Professor Kazhila Chinsembu.
“Allow me on behalf of my distinguished colleagues to extend our warmest congratulations and welcome to the new Director-General of the Higher Education Authority, Professor Kazhila Chinsembu,” he said, adding, “We are delighted to have you join us in this capacity, and we look forward to your leadership and vision that we heard yesterday in your speech in guiding the higher education sector towards excellence and innovation.”
Prof. Mwanza further stated that public universities were eager to join the Director-General in transforming the higher education subsector.
“You also encouraged us to join you in transforming the higher education sector in the country and if we don’t then, transformation will transform us,” Prof. Mwanza stated, concluding by saying, “Your appointment, DG, comes at the right time and marks a new chapter in the journey of our higher education sector, and we are confident that under your leadership, the Higher Education Authority will continue to flourish and excel in its mission to promote quality education and innovation.”
