HEA Commemorates Independence Day

The Board, Management and Staff of the Higher Education Authority (HEA) wish its clients, stakeholders and the Zambia public a happy 59th Independence Day.

The Republic of Zambia is commemorating its 59th Independence Day under the theme, “Accelerating National Development through Equitable Distribution of Resources.”

There is a famous statement of Nelson Mandela that is displayed at the entrance of the University of South Africa which reads, “destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long-range missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by students.”

As the Republic of Zambia desires to accelerate national development, education remains key and, thus, HEA remains critical at this core. Further, as the Nation seeks to equitably distribute resources, again, education remains key and, as such, again, the Authority is at this core in ensuring that the Government of the Republic of Zambia achieves this.

HEA wishes you all a fun-filled Independence Day holiday! May you and your loved ones enjoy this day and remember that 24th October represents what HEA constructively contributes to higher education subsector and, ultimately, the nation.
