Japanese Embassy Pays Courtesy Call on HEA

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) was paid a courtesy call by the Embassy of Japan in Zambia.

The delegation was led by Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Matsuura Kenji, who was accompanied by Ms. Sangwani Stemgene Sichinga, the PR and Cultural Analyst. They met HEA Director-General, Prof. Stephen Simukanga, in his office.

During their conversation, Mr. Kenji extoled, on behalf of the Japanese people, Prof. Simukanga’s contribution to higher education and fostering better ties between Zambia and Japan through his role as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Zambia.

Prof. Simukanga was Vice-Chancellor of the oldest university in Zambia for 8 years, from July 2007 to June 2015.

After his tenure as Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simukanga joined HEA in January 2016 as its first Director-General.
