IN PICTURES: HEA Exhibits at the 2nd National Research & Innovation Symposium
Participants at the 2nd National Research and Innovation Symposium took a keen interest in the Higher Education Authority (HEA) exhibition stand, where they interacted with Management and Staff, collected key publications and explored the Authority’s latest initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s higher education subsector.
Throughout the event, researchers, academics, students and sector stakeholders visited the stand to access important documents such as the 2023 State of Higher Education in Zambia Report, the HEA Strategic Plan 2022–2026 and brochures detailing quality assurance processes, accreditation guidelines and ongoing regulatory reforms.
One of the major highlights for visitors was the opportunity to scan the QR code for the National Graduate Survey, a flagship data-collection effort that will help HEA assess graduate employability, programme relevance and labour market alignment. Many participants expressed appreciation for the digital approach, noting that the QR system made the survey accessible, fast and user-friendly.
HEA Management and Staff were on hand to engage attendees, answer questions and provide insights into how the Authority is driving improvements in higher education through evidence-based regulation, strengthened quality assurance and enhanced stakeholder collaboration.
The active interest in the exhibition reflects a growing national engagement in higher education reform, particularly around issues of relevance, innovation and accountability.
HEA’s presence at the symposium underscores its commitment to supporting the research community and ensuring that Zambia’s universities produce graduates who can effectively contribute to the country’s socio-economic transformation.
The Guest of Honour at the Symposium is the Honourable Minister of Education, Mr. Douglas Munsaka Syakalima, MP., who is being represented by the Director – University Education, Mr. Brian Makufele.
