HEA Launches 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) recently launched its 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan which set out an operational framework through which the Authority would execute its mandate.

The Strategic Plan was launched at an event at Pamodzi Hotel by the Honourable Minister of Education, Mr. Douglas Munsaka Syakalima, MP., who was represented by the Permanent Secretary – Administration in the Ministry, Ms. Noriana Muneku.

The Strategic Plan outlines the vision, mission, strategic objectives and key result areas that will enable HEA to be practical and innovative in its approach to promoting quality assurance in higher education in order to catalyse a transformative higher education system and promote a knowledge-based society.

The strategic direction set out by the Strategic Plan comprise of a Vision Statement which states that HEA intends to be, “An innovative and transformative quality assurance institution.”

Therefore, to realise the vision, HEA has identified three (3) thematic areas of focus and their related strategic results which are Higher Education Quality Assurance, Stakeholder Engagement, and Institutional Capacity and Governance.

Furthermore, HEA has developed a Mission Statement which reads, “To develop and foster an innovative quality assurance system in higher education institutions for a knowledge-based society.”

In order to achieve this, HEA will rely on Core Values which are Prudence, Integrity, Reliability, Impartiality, Courtesy, Confidentiality, and Team Work.
