HEA Exhibits at the 96th Agriculture and Commercial Show

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is participating at the 96th Agriculture and Commercial Show which is taking place in Lusaka from Wednesday, 31st July to Monday, 5th August, 2024.

The Show is being held with the theme, “Creating a Competitive Future.”

In its exhibitions, HEA has domesticated the theme to showcase how the Authority is “Creating a Competitive Future through Ensuring Quality in Higher Education.”

The Authority is contending that one of the most important aspects to creating a competitive future is through research, which adds to the knowledge base of the nation with novel ideas that will contribute to addressing issues like mitigating the effects of climate change, the development of new technologies and drugs that treat, vaccinate and counter diseases.

HEA promoting and ensuring research in Zambia through the provisions of the Higher Education (Amendment) Act, 2021, which has introduced the role of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Research and Innovation.

16 universities have already implemented this. These are, in alphabetical order, Cavendish University, Chalimbana University, Copperbelt University, Copperstone University, DMI-St. Eugene University, Eden University, Kwame Nkrumah University, Lusaka Apex Medical University, Mulungushi University, Northrise University, Rockview University, Rusangu University, Unicaf University Zambia, University of Lusaka (UNILUS), University of Zambia (UNZA), and Zambian Open University.
