HEA Exhibits at the 2nd National Research & Innovation Symposium
The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is exhibiting at the 2nd National Research and Innovation Symposium hosted by the Copperbelt University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The Symposium is taking place from 2nd to 5th December, 2025, at Garden Court Hotel in Kitwe under the theme, “Setting the Agenda for Economic Transformation through Research and Innovation.”
The Symposium has brought together researchers, innovators, industry leaders, policymakers, and development partners to exchange ideas and showcase cutting-edge research that supports Zambia’s industrial growth and economic transformation.
HEA is exhibiting as part of fulfilling its 2nd Strategic Objective of Improving Stakeholder Relations under the 2022–2026 Strategic Plan. The symposium enables the Authority to interact with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and raise awareness about its mandate, including the National Graduate Survey, Annual Student Levy, Annual Audit Fees, HEI programme accreditation, quality assurance frameworks, and other regulatory functions.
HEA continues to administer the National Graduate Survey, an initiative aimed at gathering data on graduate outcomes, employability, and skills alignment. The information collected will support national planning, enhance quality assurance mechanisms, and inform improvements in academic programme delivery across HEIs.
In addition to exhibiting, HEA is also making key technical contributions to the Symposium. The Director-General, Professor Kazhila C. Chinsembu, and the Director – Quality Assurance, Dr. Martin Mushumba, are delivering keynote presentations that provide critical insights into quality assurance, research relevance, and skills development, areas central to building a competitive and resilient higher education system.
The Guest of Honour at the Symposium is the Honourable Minister of Education, Mr. Douglas Munsaka Syakalima, MP., who is being represented by the Director – University Education, Mr. Brian Makufele.
