“Do Not Leave Your Career to Chance” – Professor Chinsembu Urges Journalists
Higher Education Authority (HEA) Director-General, Professor Kazhila C. Chinsembu, has urged journalists to sow seeds of success deliberately in their careers rather than leave their professional growth to chance.
Professor Chinsembu said this when he officially opened HEA’s two-day Summer School Media Training Workshop held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10th and 11th February, 2025, at Sarovah Hotel in Lusaka.
Addressing more than 32 media practitioners gathered for the Authority’s Summer School, the Director-General reminded journalists that careers are not accidents but investments, built through intentional decisions long before success becomes visible.
“It is important to invest in your career and to sow the seeds of success so that you do not leave your career to chance,” Professor Chinsembu said. “This workshop may seem small today, but it could become one of those important dots on your CV that shapes your future. What you do now lays the foundation and the building blocks of success tomorrow. We hope this training will feature prominently in your professional journey.”
The Media Training Workshop was designed to strengthen accurate, informed, and contextual reporting on higher education regulation, quality assurance and policy implementation in Zambia.
