Congratulations Prof. Stephen Simukanga on Your Election as the President of the Southern African Quality Assurance Network (SAQAN)
The Board, Management and Staff of the Higher Education Authority congratulates the Director-General, Prof. Stephen Simukanga, on his election as the president of the Southern African Quality Assurance Network (SAQAN).
Former President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, said, “Leadership is never given on a silver platter, one has to earn it.”
Prof. Simukanga, your election as SAQAN President is clear and resounding echo of how you have steadfastly led the Higher Education Authority in “Ensuring Quality Higher Education” in order to enhance human capital that will lead to accelerated national development.
Prof. Simukanga was elected as president of the new SAQAN Executive Committee at its biennial general assembly on 26th April, 2022, and will serve a four-year term, which was effective on the date of election, and may be eligible for re-election for one more term only.
SAQAN was founded in 2015 as a voluntary and non-profit organisation made up of membership from quality assurance agencies, higher education institutions and professional bodies in the SADC region.
