Happy Kaunda Day, Zambia
As we celebrate Kaunda Day on the 28th of April, the Higher Education Authority (HEA) honours our founding president, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, and the legacy he left in uniting our nation.
Dr. Kaunda’s vision and leadership played a pivotal role in creating the peaceful, multi-ethnic Zambia we know today. His slogan “One Zambia, One Nation” continues to remind us of the importance of unity in diversity, especially in a time when many countries around us were grappling with ethnic divisions.
In his own words, “Our country is a great country, and we are one people, no matter where we come from or what tribe we belong to.” These words still resonate strongly in our hearts as they guide us forward in a spirit of togetherness.
As we reflect on his leadership, let’s continue to honour the values of unity, peace, and solidarity that have allowed Zambia to stand strong, even in challenging times. We celebrate Dr. Kaunda’s contribution to the peace and prosperity we enjoy today as a nation. #HEAZambia #KaundaDay #OneZambiaOneNation
