CBU’s Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine Brightens Smiles of Twapia with Dental Outreach

The Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine of the Copperbelt University (CBU) is brightening the smiles of Twapia residents of Ndola through the dental outreach programmes it performs.

Speaking exclusively to the Higher Education Authority’s (HEA) Corporate Communication Unit for the HEA Newsletter, the Dean of the Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine, Professor Seter Siziya, stated that the public Higher Education Institution (HEI) performs this community service through its Dental Clinic.

“Through the community services that we do that deal with dental services, we go into the communities, with the nearest being Twapia, and get the affected populations and bring them to our clinic for treatment and then drive them back,” Professor Siziya said.

Professor Siziya added that the fee structure for the clinic was exactly the same as that of government hospitals, with the added advantage that the people that need treatment are ferried from Twapia and back by the School.

“We have the same fee structure as other government hospitals, with the high cost and low cost, just like at Ndola Teaching Hospital,” the Dean said, adding, “But the beauty with us is that we have the highest concentration of experts in dental services.”
