“You Will Witness It” – Parliament Signals Confidence in Education Reform

The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Technology has expressed strong confidence in the passage of the Education (Amendment) Bill, 2026, following submissions from the Higher Education Authority (HEA).

Speaking at the close of the session on Monday, 20th April, 2026, Honourable Mr. Chinga Miyutu, MP., Member of Parliament for Kalabo Central, commended the Authority’s contribution to the process.

“The Higher Education Authority is important in the higher education sector and so is your submission, I am sure you will witness the passing of this Bill,” Honourable Miyutu said.

The remarks signal growing momentum behind one of Zambia’s most significant education reforms, with Parliament moving steadily towards enshrining free education and systemic improvements into law.

For HEA, the moment marks not just participation, but influence in shaping the future of education in Zambia.
