Zambia @ 61: Honouring Our Journey as HEA Reflects on 60 Years of Higher Education

Today, the Higher Education Authority (HEA) proudly joins the nation in celebrating 61 years of Zambia’s independence. As we honour this milestone, we also reflect on how far our higher education system has come, from just over 100 university graduates in 1964 to a rapidly expanding student population today, with enrolment increasing by 50.3% over the past two years, with 51% being male and 49% being female.

Professor Ndhlovu reflects on leading the multi-disciplinary team analysing national trends that have shaped higher education over the past 60 years.
