<p>The Ministry of Education launched its 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan that is aimed at having “An Educated and Skilled Nation.”</p>

<p>The Ministerial Strategic Plan was launched by the Honourable Minister of Education, Mr. Douglas Syakalima, MP., at an event held at Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka on Thursday, 28th December, 2023.</p>

<p>The Honourable Minister stated that the 2022-2026 Ministerial Strategic Plan was anchored on the 8th National Development Plan of ensuring that Zambia’s human and social development is given priority.</p>

<p>“This entails having a well-educated, highly skilled and healthy labour force to propel Zambia to become a thriving and industrialised nation as espoused in the Vision 2030, without leaving anyone behind but giving them equal opportunity in education, regardless of their social class, race, gender, sexuality, ethnic background or physical and mental disabilities,” Mr. Syakalima stated, adding, “this is an approach promoted by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which ensures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030.</p>

<p>Mr. Syakalima further added that it was for that reason that the Ministry endeavoured to promote policy reforms that would address the core barriers to accessing equitable and quality education for all and ensure that all vulnerable learners can easily access education at all levels.</p>

<p>Mr. Syakalima stated that the 2022-2026 Ministerial Strategic Plan envisions &#8220;a nation of well-educated, highly skilled, healthy labour force and a productive people&#8221; who will propel the country&#8217;s social and economic development towards the aspiration of the country&#8217;s Vision 2030.</p>

<p>“In this regard, the New Dawn Administration will continue to strengthen and transform the education sector by ensuring adequate policy and legal frameworks to create enabling teaching and learning environments that promote learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and innovation, as well as communication and collaboration skills,” he said.</p>
