Government has bought Information and Communication Technology -(ICT)- equipment for three public universities and 5 TEVET institutions.

This is under the 35 Million U.S Dollar Support to Science, Technical and Education Project –STEP- financed by the African Development Bank-ADB.

Ministry of Higher Education Acting Permanent Secretary Muzanu Simumba disclosed this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.

Mr. Simumba further disclosed that three thousand students have been given money for work based and Entrepreneurship trainings under the project.

He said the fund is also being used to help Lecturers upgrade their qualifications from diplomas to degree level.

Mr. Simumba said progress has been made under the four-year project ending in 2018.
