The State of Higher Education in Zambia

Higher Education Authority (HEA) Director General, Professor Stephen Simukanga, said that Higher Education in Zambia is facing challenges that extend to credibility of private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and funding challenges for public HEIs. 

Professor Simukanga was speaking on Africa Business Radio’s Campus Africa, a show that looks at Higher Education on the African continent.

During the interview, the Professor spoke on a number of wide ranging issues from the History of Zambia higher Education, to the criteria for registering Higher Education Institutions in Zambia and to how the HEA ensures that programmes in HEIs are of good quality.
