Accreditation is a process by which those seeking to provide tuition leading to the Qualifications described in Levels 6 to 10 (Diploma to Doctorate degree) of the National Qualifications Framework will be assessed for conformity with established standards and criteria. 

Specifically, the HEA will:

  • Develop criteria and guidelines for applications for registration and renewal of registration of Higher Education Institutions;
  • Consider applications for registration and renewal of registration of Higher Education Institutions and to recommend to the Minister on the registration and renewal of registration of a Higher Education Institution;
  • Ensure that registered Higher Education Institutions comply with the provisions of the Higher Education Act and to recommend to the Minister on the appropriate measures to be taken on the registration status of a Higher Education Institution.
